The Marriage of the Virgin by Raffaello, an icon of the Milan Museum, and the painting of the same subject by Perugino, on loan from the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Caen, will be exhibited next to each other in the Passion Hall of the Pinacoteca di Brera on Monday, March 14. The two masterpieces symbols of the Renaissance grace will be compared in reality and a dialogue, which so far has been illustrated in schoolbooks only, will become possible.
Goppion, among the improvements to the museum, which were made to support this exhibition, has made the special hurdles of several lengths, aimed at preventing visitors from getting excessively close to the works on show, and several caption stands next to each painting. Extruded aluminum hurdles are machine tooled and finished with high-strength anodizing.
Through Museum Lab, the Goppion design office, which has been established to support museum projects in public administration, providing it with state-of-the-art technologies, we have collaborated with Pinacoteca's project group, particularly with Director James Bradburne and architects Alessandra Quarto and Angelo Rossi, for the preparation engineering, providing our Research and Development and prototyping activities on a free of charge basis.
Once again, the main challenge was execution time: structures have been designed, built and assembled in just 15 days.
